A genuine piece of German automotive design and engineering history, the W113 230SL has become one of the most desirable classic roadsters on the market – and for good reason. This beautifully preserved example is a testament to timeless design, mechanical quality, and driving pleasure. With its low center of gravity, precise steering, and responsive six-cylinder engine, the 230SL offers a surprisingly modern driving feel for a 1960s classic. The automatic transmission makes it an ideal grand tourer – perfect for weekend drives or daily commutes.Â
The 1967 Mercedes-Benz 230SL Pagoda came impressively equipped for its time and still holds its own in terms of comfort, engineering, and practicality. Some of the features this car includes is a 2.3L straight six engine, 4 speed automatic gearbox, independent front and rear suspension, factory removable hardtop finished in the same colour, retractable soft top that folds away nicely under the rear deck and more.
This Pagoda is finished in Cavansite Blue with Black and Blue Leather Interior. The paintwork is in great condition and so is the brightwork. The interior beautifully complements the car’s exterior tone. The dashboard features a body-coloured upper fascia, elegant chrome accents, and a perfectly preserved wood trim that stretches across the dash and center console. The Blaupunkt Stereo System sits lovely in the center, flanked by functional climate sliders and period-correct toggle switches. The seats are period correct and the bolsters remain firm, with no sagging or excessive wear. The seat bases provide a comfortable, upright position.Â
The car has benefitted from regular servicing by various Mercedes Benz specialists and the renowned Rodger Edwards of Amersham. As part of its careful preservation, this Pagoda has received new floor sections. The original floors were carefully removed and replaced with OEM-spec steel panels. The boot floor was also replaced. Amongst the history file includes lots of old MoT Certificates, Previous Service Work, Old Invoices, Original Owners Manual, Tax Discs, Current V5 and more.Â
